DESCRIPTION:Cosmic Psychos are an influential Australian punk rock institution\, formed in Spring Plains\, Victoria\, in 1982 and spearheaded by founding member and bassist Ross Knight. Over their 40-plus year career\, the band’s sound has remained raw and unchanged\, defined by repetitive lyrics\, fuzzed-out guitar\, and a characteristic wah-wah bass. This sound established them as a cornerstone of Australian rock and a major\, acknowledged influence on the Seattle grunge scene of the 1990s\, cited by producer Butch Vig and figures like Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. Their global reach was further solidified by The Prodigy sampling their music in 1997. The band’s legacy received renewed attention following the 2013 documentary\, Blokes You Can Trust\, leading to increased international touring and and reignited popularity.
