KOKOBASAI : Afro Beat

Kokobasaï
emerged in 2015
from an encounter
between five musicians
of diverse cultural and
musical backgrounds.
The band offers audiences a
musical voyage using modern and
traditional acoustic instruments, traversing
West African rhythms, Trance, Blues and Jazz.
Kokobasaï recorded its first EP in 2016 independently which
had resounding success
leading to multiple appearances at festivals

such as
L’Arbre qui Marche,
Le rêve de l’Aborigène,
Tribal Elek, Quartiers
d’été, Sambr’Africa.
At the beginning of 2018, during
a residency in Morocco, the band
recorded its second album, a fusion
of traditional Gnawa music and acoustic trance
with Mehdi Qamoum.
Kokobasaï welcomes musicians form all different
musical genres to diversify and improve its musical venture to
create sound that encompasses multiple musical genres.
